Fairy Ladies

The Samodivi, infamous forest spirits in Balkan folklore, inspired the Fairy Ladies. These mystical creatures are known for their love of music and dance, and their ability to enchant humans. As they are said to be the personified form of nature, and a symbol of the coming spring, the paint work on the Fairy Ladies’ bodies mimic the textures of trees and moss. Additionally, sprouting from their heads are blooming flowers. The Samodivi were also considered the forest’s protectors. Therefore, nooked and protected between the wings, are twinkling balls alluding to a hub of fairy life and magical creatures.

Event

Dragon Cone

Due to a surrounding forest of pine trees, the pinecone was central to the design of the dragon egg sculpture. Plus, both elements share symbolisms. The pinecone symbolizes “resurrection, regeneration, and eternal life”, while the dragon egg symbolizes “transformation, rebirth, and new beginnings”. Both were merged to create the Dragon Cone. A dragon egg shaped as a pinecone with the sacred cone’s geometry highlighted by light strips. The light programming, along with a LED moving dragon eye and lasers emerging from the tip to the sky, created an animate installation representing the birth of magic.

Event

The Mask

Jesters were jokesters at Italian court that were said to have “kept the king and all of his men in a jolly mood”. Influenced by this playful spirit of the jester, this sculpture is designed to bring an uplifting and modern twist to the traditional Venetian Mask. It is the protagonist of an evening inspired by ‘La Serenissima’, the Republic of Venice. The Mask sets the tone for this eccentric masquerade ball-style night, giving it a funky twist through design, lights, and colours – in true jester fashion.

Event

Shinning Armor

Armor is traditionally associated with divide and conflict, but in thi installation, armor is symbolic of mutual protection, mutual connection, mutual power. We are living a time where it is ever most important to come together in unity, combine our strength, and protect one another. These are the warriors, or “knights”, of our future. Knights of love and light. As is why the in knights in Shinning Armor fuse as one to create a heart outline and radiate light outwards. The emission continued outwards as a wave of light glistening on all the benches of the location’s amphitheater.

Event

Sensaura

Sensaura is a sentient being in complete sync with her senses, emotions, and auric field – all of which are interconnected. Embedded in her mind is a playful ensemble of the five senses. The lights connecting these senses to the body reveal how our physical senses transfer information from the external world into our bodies. Encapsulated around her head are a ring of circles symbolic of her auras. Projected on these circles are an array of different emotions. It is said that auras are “affected by our thoughts, moods, and emotional states”.

Event

Spiral, Gratitude & Love Being

Three sensorial beings showcasing the color and vibrancy that sentience, and emotions, bring to our internal and external states of being. Implemented on all the art works are spirals, these highlight the dynamic, ever-transforming nature of our emotions. In conjunction, the figures do not follow the traditional, rigid mold of the human body. They have been sculpted to reflect the “mushiness” we feel as sentient creatures.

Event

Empyrean Field

An ethereal space dedicated to the energetic field of collective consciousness. It is composed of five Pillar Beings and a Meander Vortex. The Pillar Beings act as the guardians, or the ancestral “pillars”, of the space. They embody the uploading and downloading of universal and ancestral information, displayed as moving particles of light. Light that also vibrates outwards, creating the field from which we are all connected. Ultimately, this installation sheds light on the intelligent life force that eternally runs through us, our ancestors, and the cosmos.

Event

Cosmic Nous

Greek philosopher, Anaxagoras, introduced “cosmic nous” as a divine intelligence that creates and shapes the cosmic order of all things. He proposed that this divine intelligence was the source of spiritual consciousness that organized “seeds of the universe” and set them in motion to form the physical world. This philosophy is brought to life with the Cosmic Nous installation. An installation that reveals how the light and source of spirit permeates throughout all layers of existence, from the non-physical, or spiritual, to the more material.

Event

Mystic Eye

The third eye is the hidden lens of the mind able to "see” things that are not immediately visible or tangible, but subconsciously drive our intuition and perception. To demonstrate this idea into the sculpture are two features: a mystical tunnel and an iris that illuminates as a radio antenna. Together, they display the third eye’s ability to receive and broadcast from the “Mystic” – appearing as laser beams shinning outwards. Finally, the extravagant eyelashes made of sacred geometric pinecones allude to the origin of the third eye’s other name, the pineal gland.

Event

Crystal Key

This installation focuses on the relationship between the third eye, crystals, and the sun and moon. Crystals are incorporated because the pineal gland is in an area of the brain often referred to as the Crystal Palace. This is due to the presence of microcrystals within the pineal gland’s core structure. In the case of the sun and moon, they are said to create a balance between the conscious and subconscious, rational and intuitive, seen and unseen – tethering the abilities of the third eye.

Event

Arc of Reincarnation

Designed as an arc to illustrate the progression from one spirit form to another – to give a visual display of the rebirth cycle. The faces on each side demonstrate the many layers and past lives we hold within us. Emerging from these faces is a hologram-like soul – for we are one soul living many lives. At the peak of the sculpture is the Unalome, a symbol of our experience as human beings on Earth and stands for the path to attain spiritual enlightenment.

Event

Our Circulatory System

An infinity symbol, representing the arteries, connects the central heart and the lungs together. This infinite loop is emphasized by small, dotted lights hidden within the infinity arteries that are programmed to appear as moving blood cells. The heartbeat line represents the cardiac pulses that power the circulatory system and our lives. Whereas the spirals are a symbol for life and a portal to the spirit world.

Event

Lotus Womb

The lotus symbolizes rebirth, and the womb symbolizes a place for bringing spirit into material form. By fusing both, this sculpture honors the cyclical female reproductive system. Emerging from the top of the lotus are fallopian tubes and their respective ovaries. The small lights in the eggs and up along the fallopian tubes allude to the new beings the womb nurtures into existence. To enter this installation, one steps through its obscure vaginal opening. Inside is a small audio-visual space inspired by the inside of a mother’s womb.

Event

Migrating Bird

Lit with a magical laser projection, this installation is focused on bird migration and its relation to the Earth’s continuously circular-moving magnetic field. In fact, this sculpture’s magnetic field expands outwardly from the body and eyes of a central bird to highlight that birds use the magnetic field to navigate the world.

Event

Constellation Sanctum

An installation made up of the 12 zodiac constellations, with each sculpture highlighting the respective guardian and patterns of stars pertaining to each constellation. In addition, as every atom originates from the same source, stardust, each sculpture has laser beams that meet at a small, center sculpture, the Atom – interconnecting all zodiacs to our shared origin. Finally, as we are stepping into the Aquarian Age, the Aquarius sign is the only sculpture shaped like a doorway. Walking through this door we are welcomed with a path of light guiding us into the New Age.

Event

Aquarian Gate

It is said that the water poured by Aquarians washes away the past’s energies, purifying and leaving room for a wave of amplified vibrations to shower the planet. Surrounding the Aquarius man is a zodiac calendar to display our astrological transition through the different zodiac ages. Expanding from the calendar are rays of light bent into a zig zag form to mimic the Aquarius symbol and to represent the vibrational frequencies being radiated from the new Aquarius Age.

Event

The Ouroboros

Designed as two interlocking snakes, the Ouroboros is known to express that everything, from the material to the spiritual, never disappears but perpetually changes form in an eternal cycle of destruction and re-creation. The Ouroboros bound with the double helix illustrates the infinite continuity of personal transformation and evolution. The clock hands demonstrate that the passage of time in evolution moves circularly, and therefore, infinitely too.

Event

Coming Together

After the pandemic and the deep isolation and distance it brought, this installation celebrates human connection and reuniting together. To communicate this idea is the string work joining and pulling every finger together without reaching the actual touch. The strings are also representative of the human body’s intricate venous network. In addition, the sculpture is deliberately exposed to its pure metal build to unveil the internal links that shape and connect us.

Event

The Dominoes

All life on Earth is connected through nature’s complex networks that are built by the delicate interdependence and mutually beneficial relationships amongst all living things. This symbiotic system creates a “domino effect” in nature. Each of Earth’s six spheres are represented in one of the blocks of this installation, where each piece also contains a depiction of an organism being adversely affected by abnormal changes in the spheres.

Event

Pollinator Hive

A culmination of carefully placed hexagons, one of the basic building blocks and most common patterns found throughout nature. Hexagons are six sided shapes, and the number six symbolizes balance, stability, and responsibility – central themes when celebrating the importance of pollination. Every insect projected on the hive – the bee, wasp, butterfly, moth, and beetle – are vital pollinators. Without these creatures, nature’s interdependent networks would crumble - starting with a decline in plant production. Hence, the tree stump table without any blossoming leaves.

Event

Leaf Portals

This installation is a collection of leaf-shaped portals serving as doorways into a realm of nature’s networks. The leaves are purposely designed to highlight the veins that construct the miniscule yet vast networks within plant life. Furthermore, the outlines of the leaves are lit with programmed strips of light that display the active life and information rushing through nature.

Event

Sir Fungi

Fungi are a direct product of the mycelium – an interwoven mass of thread-like hyphae that function as nature’s underground internet. The stem of the sculpture unveils this cotton-like network, as well as illustrates the continuous flow of information between the ground and fungi. Meanwhile, the arcs of the installation occasionally let out gusts of smoke to mimic spore release in mushroom reproduction. Finally, the internal glow and fluorescent eyes at the top of the pieces allude to fungi’s ability to guide one within, as well as create waking dreams.

Event

Satellite Mushrooms

Six mushrooms molded into satellites to depict the information and messages – appearing as laser beams – that mushrooms hold and transmit. It is said that fungi reveal secrets of the universe, much like the Flower of Life symbol. As such, the internal caps of these satellites are each painted with a sacred geometric symbol that either form into or out of the Flower of Life – indicating that everything is ultimately built from the same blueprint. Further, the laser beams meet and cross forming a net-like shape to emphasize that all mushrooms, and life, are connected through fungi.

Event

Keystone Star

Fractals have emerged repeatedly in nature as efficient solutions for transferring information and resources. Sea stars are embedded with such geometric forms, and their role within certain ecological structures is vital, which is why they are also known as keystone species. This means that they are the key, or glue, keeping their ecosystem's network in balance – hence the keyhole at the centre of the piece. Similarly, the golden ratio spiral of the nautilus shell, symbolizes order amidst chaos and harmony found within nature. The Sea Star installation unites these concepts into one whole.

Event

Grains of Time

As grains of sand are continuously moving to different locations in different periods, it is said that sand holds the records of our planet’s processes at a variety of timescales. “In every grain of sand there is the story of the Earth” - Carson. To display this is the hourglass with sand falling down its centre, and two seahorse sand sculptures. Seahorses can look both forwards and backwards independently, representing the ability to see the past, present, and future at the same time. As a result, these seahorses act as the guardians of the knowledge gathered up over time by the sand held inside the hourglass.

Event

Light Beings

Light beings are said to represent wisdom, enlightenment, new beginnings, and truth. They are sources of pure energy - hence their hologram-like build. Light beings reside at a very high frequency. It is said that the higher the frequency, the closer to our source one becomes. Therefore, the beings are exaggeratingly tall figures, aimed to represent their “higher” consciousness, cosmic connection, and grandiose presence. Further, two of the light beings’ heads are connected by a string of light to symbolize their evolved ability to communicate telepathically and that we are all cosmically connected.

Event

Space Time Clock

Space and time are infinite. Some physicists believe that time is simply an illusion. This installation communicates these theories through a spacetime clock formed as a continuous spiral – illustrating time as infinite. Additionally, in the spacetime continuum unfolds black holes – doorways into other dimensions that some believe extraterrestrial beings use to travel between galaxies. Therefore, this installation also represents a portal for the beings from the Light Beings installation.

Event

Aztec Heavens & Underworlds

The Nahua people believed that the sky was multi-layered – a heaven separated into 13 levels and an underworld separated into 9 levels. Their multi-layered sky represented the eternal duality between the heavens and underworld. As such, the installation consists of 13 steps of heaven painted blue, and 9 steps of the underworld painted red – emphasizing the Aztec’s cosmovision of “polar opposite” worlds. At the center of the structure stands the tree of life, symbolic of Earth, which anchors the two worlds together. This design was inspired by Aztec drawings often used to symbolize "one through whom all live”.

Event

The Tzolkin Calendar

The Tzolkin was a Mayan calendar consisting of 20-day signs (glyphs) synced with 13 numbers (tones) to generate 260 unique days. This installation emphasizes both elements by separating the glyph calendar and the tones calendar as separate entrances, all the while aligning them to simultaneously showcase their mechanical bond. The Mayans used the Tzolkin as a calendar for astrological events. Specifically, to track the phases of the Moon and to predict eclipses. Hence the waxing crescent, full, and waning crescent moons at the end of the installation – giving a telescope-like effect.

Event

8 Arcs

The Big Bang Theory suggests the universe was born from a singularity – a spot with infinite space and time; infinite density. The installation is situated at the center of a Milky Way candle arrangement, whose center (“center of our galaxy”) represents our origin, singularity, and infinity. The 8 arcs, made of U.V. colored strings, are interconnected portals through which one enters and exits always remaining enclosed in the same infinitespace – hence “eight” arcs, to represent the symbol of infinity.

Event

The Hummingbird Mural

The hummingbird is said to be always actively seeking the sweetest nectar. As such, at the center of the mural are flower petals within a Fruit of Life formation from which the hummingbirds flourish. The flowers are further embedded within a Metatron’s Cube. This cube is sacred geometric symbol and map of all creation and universal expansion. Hummingbirds, also a symbol of eternity, are our pilots through this journey.

(This design was made in collaboration with a collective of artists from Cheran, Mexico).

Event

Alebrije Eagle

Alebrijes are carved and painted spirit animal figurines from Mexico. They are known for their vibrant colors and strikingly detailed features. The Alebrije Eagle installation served as the guardian of a space dedicated to spirit birds. The eagle has both its wings open, welcoming spectators with a grandiose and powerful presence. While walking under these wings, one can appreciate the sublime details of the paint work and traditional Mexican folk art.

Event

Chakra Deer Woman

A half deer-half woman sculpture made from driftwood and internal lightboxes illuminating the seven chakras. The chakras run along the body of the deer-woman with no interruption when transitioning from deer to woman to illustrate the unity between the deer and the woman, a unity amongst all living things. Additionally, in shamanism, the deer is a messenger of the gods – the antlers grow beyond its body, bringing it closer to the sky to communicate with the above. Therefore, for the installation, the crown charka – the eye-opening bridge to the cosmic world – is directly placed between the deer’s antlers.
